When I took this photograph, cropped and edited it, I did not realize the significance of the image of the woman (which were 4 ceramic tiles attached to the wall) in the top left. To me it looked like a “lost poster” to find a loved one. Also, the numbers 111 which to some has much spiritual significance further intrigued me. I did some research and found out the tiles of the woman were a tribute to Luísa Cortesão, who died in 2016, who discovered street art through Lata 65, a project that teaches spray and stencil techniques to older people In 2012, Louise enrolled in a workshop of Can 65, the initiative of Lara Seixo Rodrigues that teaches the elderly to make drawings on the walls with paint cans. It was there that Luísa took the x-act and cut the silhouette of a witch with a spray can in her hand - little did she know that the drawing would become the image of Lata 65 itself. Lois was also a photographer then later in life graffiti artist. Two of my favorites! The numbers 111 took on much more meaning.
